On July 11th, the Feast of St. Benedict, in a filled Mass the faithful and many priests from the Diocese gathered to celebrate the Final Profession of Vows of Brother Leo Young O.S.B.. Abbot Placid congratulates the monk on faithfully answering the call God put on his heart after 5 years of discernment with the monks. The Abbot also shared with those in attendance during his homily that he has known Brother Leo since he was a young boy, and what a gift it was to watch him grow up, attend Belmont Abbey as a student and then return ultimately for good — in pursuit of his vocation to become a monk. The full homily and Mass can be viewed here, and short highlight video below. Please join us in continued prayer for Brother Leo as he embarks on his new journey as a fully professed monk!
