Commemoration of the Faithful Departed

The annual prayer service for the monks, Sisters of Mercy and relatives, friends and benefactors buried in the abbey cemetery will take place in the cemetery on Thursday, November 2, All Souls Day, at 4:45 p.m. In the event of inclement weather, the service will be held in the basilica. Vespers will follow at 5:30 p.m.
A basket and blank cards are in the narthex of the basilica. If you wish for someone to be remembered in the monks’ prayers during November, the month dedicated to prayer for the faithful departed, please write the name on one of the cards and place it in the basket. The basket with the names will be placed under the altar at the Mass of All Souls Day and will remain there through the month of November.
